I fell in love with the Goldendoodle the very first time I saw one playing with his owner in a park…. Once I found out that not only did they look like real life teddy bears but they were also no to low shedding dogs and an intentional mix between two of my favorite breeds the Golden and the Standard Poodle….I kinda became obsessed with learning everything there was to know about these amazing hybrids. After all my research we adopted our first F1 goldendoodle puppy “Toby” and the whole family fell head over heels in love with this adorable little puppy who wanted nothing more then to love and be loved.
Then shortly after that we adopted our Aussiedoodle “Teddy” who his breeders had named because he looked exactly like a little Teddy Bear. I fell deeper in love with Doodles and Teddy has been a blessing to us everyday. He is one of the best dogs I’ve had the pleasure to know. Incredibly smart, LOVING, athletic, soft and non-shedding.. and just look at those eyes. I was hooked.
So a few years ago I decided to use my experience with animals and my love for our Doodles and start my own breeding program. I spent hours doing research on genetics and learning about the doodle hybrids and I started the long process of finding the perfect females for my program. I’ve been very fortunate to acquire a handful of some very beautiful and healthy girls.
Even though our breeding stock have all been hand selected with breeding in mind.. they’re all considered to be part of our family and will never see the inside of a commercial kennel. Our breeding dogs either live inside our home or inside the home of one of our very special guardian families.
We enjoy the whole process of helping our girls whelp, ween and train the puppies and then with lots of smiles and some sadness we watch them move on and hopefully change a families life for the better. This is one of the most rewarding parts of breeding these sweet dogs. We stay in contact with all our new Doodle parents and offer them support for the life of their puppy. We provide all our families with a 2 year genetic health Guarantee.
My name is Barbara, I’m a 39 year old mother of 3 and my husband Roy and I own a small thrift store called Things-n-Stuff here in Woodland, WA. Breeding doodles was something I started a few years ago and it’s still a very new and exciting adventure for me. I find great joy in my dogs and their babies… I know that if my passion for dogs ever begins to fade away then that will be the day I will retire from breeding. I’m not a “crazy dog lady” but dogs do make me laugh and smile for sure!
Our 3 young children ages 6, 12 and 14 and they all gladly help us socialize our puppies and we believe that this is the most important role in our program. Early socialization is so integral in raising a healthy and happy lifelong companion pet and professionals advise that early socialization must begin as early as possible in order for the puppies to reach their full potential.
Our puppies absolutely LOVE the attention they get from the kids and the daily interactions make for a well rounded and friendly puppy who is less likely to be timid and more likely to remain confident around loud noises, fast moving objects and normal kid play in general. Fear is responsible for most dog bites.
From day one our puppies are all introduced to a household environment, smells and sights as they are kept in our second living room area. Once they are a little older we start to introduce them to more stimulating environments including louder sounds and voices like a running vacuum, the door bell etc and different types of textures and toys like balls, rattles, pots, cardboard boxes, grass, dirt, straw.. things they’ll likely experience in any any active household. We like to use “The Puppy’s Rule of Twelve” suggestions and we highly recommend ALL new puppy owners review this list at home.
We begin the potty training and crate training process while our puppies to help the transition home as smooth and as stress free as possible for everyone involved. This is especially helpful for first time dog owners.
We do NOT remove dew claws. This practice was started as a way to reduce injury in hunting breeds. We believe as does the medical community that the stress that this procedure can cause a 3 day old puppy and their dam is really not worth the perceived benefits. I’ve never had any problems with dew claws on any of my adult dogs.
Our goal is to breed and nurture Medium sized F1b (American) Labradoodles for the following:
