As a dog breeder I’m always looking for the best dog supplies for my own dogs but also which toys I should be recommending to our new puppy families to keep their teething puppies occupied!
I’ve finally created a list of 10 of the BEST Toys and 5 of the Best Dogs Chews I’ve found on Chewy.com and Amazon Prime (because these are also my favorite places to shop online)!

THE CHUCKIT BRAND TOYS!
Most experienced dog owners probably already know about the Chuckit brand of balls and toys and would agree they make some of the best balls for dogs and puppies at a reasonable price!
Regular Tennis balls are quickly destroyed and their insides may end up in your dogs tummy which can cause an intestinal obstruction.
The Chuckit balls are more durable and will last longer then tennis balls or even some of the best balls made for dogs – plus my dogs love them!
CHUCKIT! ULTRA BALLS – MEDIUM SIZE (2.5 inches)
The Chuckit! Ultra Ball (2 Pack) these are probably the most well known of the Chuckit balls for dogs.
What’s the size of the Medium Balls?
The Small size measures 2 inches in diameter and the Medium is 2.5 inches in diameter.
The Chuckit! brand balls are also designed to bounce really high which dogs love!
Most the Chuckit! toys can also float which makes them great toys for pools, lakes, ocean and ponds, their also easy to find and fetch in the waves!

I’ve been buying and recommending Chuckit Indoor balls for YEARS now! The bright colors are appealing to dogs and humans are surprisingly bouncy. There’s an Indoor ball launcher that fits these but I couldnt find them on Chewy.com!? It is available on Amazon!

Both the Indoor Chuckit Ball Launcher and the Classic Chuckit Ball Launchers are a BLAST! Makes playing ball a lot easier, cleaner for us AND honestly what a great idea!! Bravo for Chuckit!! You dont have to touch slobbery balls and can toss them a lot farther which will wear out your dog but not your arm!
I like the original size best and you can’t beat the prices!!

The “Duckworth” Duck Plush Toy by MultiPet
This adorable plush filled squeak toy has gained a lot of popularity on and offline. So, needless to say please watch out for FAKE Duckworths online!!
The original Mr. DUCKWORTH IS BY MULTIPETand this beloved Ducky, comes in several colors and the original yellow color and also a large 13 inch size and VERY small 3 inch size for toy breeds or a very, VERY small puppy..but I personally recommend the large 13 inch size Duckworth for our Doodle Puppies and Adults.
This is also a squeak toy!

The Tubbie Wubbie Lion – A Littermate Replacement for your Sad Puppies!
But a good example for what I mean when I recommend using a cuddle buddy for your new puppies during crate training.
These Lions are super soft, not too big or too small and great for simulating a littermate for a new puppy to cuddle with especially for that first week home when spending the night alone probably for the first time ever in a crate.
Tubbie Wubbie Lions are 12 inches tall and don’t have a bunch of pieces that can be chewed off like some stuffed animals for kids might, which may cause choking hazards for puppies!

The Kong “Floppy Knots” Fox and Bunny Squeak Toys!
These Knottty Kong Animals are super colorful & cute and are a lot of chew-tastic fun! These toys are durable and have become very popular amongst the “Furry in-crowd”.. especially the youngsters and teenagers but don’t think those “mature” adult dogs don’t also absolutely adore them… because they do too!! Shhh! Just don’t tell their kids!!

There’s also a very cool! The weaved wubba toy that puppies absolutely love called the Wubba Weave!!
All of the Wubba Friend Toys will give your playful and teething puppies plenty to grab onto… they love to toss them up into the air, chase and chew on them!
Both our Aussiedoodle and Labradoodle puppies and adults LOVE these Wubba Ball toys!! I’ve never had one of our dogs turn their noses up at one of these adorable KONG toys.

Now The Worst Puppy Teething Toys:
Here are some of the worst teething toy choices for your Aussiedoodle and Labradoodle puppies according to the American Kennel Club (AKC).
- Items with small or sharp metal parts such as pins, springs, or batteries.
- Long strips or fibers, such as strings or thin ribbon. Nylon hose can be dangerous if swallowed.
- Cooked bones of any kind. Cooked bones can splinter and break into tiny, highly abrasive fragments that damage the digestive tract over time.
- Chewies made of LARGE pieces or knots of rawhide. Swallowed pieces of these often cause intestinal obstructions OR choking in puppies! IF you wanna buy rawhide get the pencil size rawhide sticks!
- Thin, squeaky-type (cheap) rubber pet toys. Dogs who are vigorous chewers can swallow these toys whole!
- Soft toys with foam stuffing.
Anything of yours. Period (or something that looks like your stuff). A puppy doesn’t understand YET that they’re allowed to chew old shoes or socks you’ve given them but NOT your fancy new Manolo Blahniks heels?! - A VERY expensive lesson!

Just TRY to keep them as an inside treat so you can keep an eye on how small they’re widdling them down or if they manage to break them (surprisingly rare).

#2 BEEF GULLET & BULLY STICKS
Our Labradoodles and Aussiedoodles CAN NOT GET ENOUGH of the Beef Gullet Sticks… and I personally can’t recommend them enough to our new puppy families especially for the price!! You can get them on Chewy.com OR Amazon.com and their prices in comparison to some of the bigger box pet stores where I’ve also found them for upwards of triple the price.. it’s a steal!!
The Beef Gullets Sticks are similar looking to the much more well known and popular Bully Sticks but they’re all together different body part of the cow, its the cows esophagus so they’re a softer, hollow treat that’s gentle on a puppies baby teeth while still doing the job of keeping their teeth and gums clean!
Beef Gullet Sticks or Bully Sticks are both GREAT when your crate training a puppy or anytime you need to occupy your puppies teeth and/or mind… for example when you’re introducing them to the crate for the first few times, car rides, plane rides or a first time vet visit.
They definitely do their job when it comes to keeping a puppy busy. *Adults however, can scarf these down pretty quickly.
So, I highly recommend the GigaBite Bully Sticks more for adults and those can also be found on Amazon Prime and Chewy.com.
